Bero Feels Right at Home at St. Lawrence

CANTON — Four years ago at this time Alley Bero was keeping a big secret.
Then a senior at Salmon River High School, Bero knew she wanted to play women’s college hockey at St. Lawrence University, but she didn’t know how to tell all the other coaches who were trying to recruit her that she had already made up her mind.
Bero, who was also playing for the U.S. Under-18 team that season, was recruited by just about every big-time program in the nation.
