Paul Flanagan, the eminently successful head coach of the St. Lawrence University women's hockey team, is a native of Canton, N.Y., and played at the school (Class of 1980).
He even coached at his high school alma mater before moving on to become an assistant coach with the men's team at St. Lawrence. Finally, he remained in his back yard when he was appointed to his current position prior to the 1999-2000 season.
