TROY — Is Cornell good enough to beat Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute three times in three meetings? Are the Big Red women, the ECAC Hockey regular-season champions so superior to the fifth-place Engineers that the old ‘three out of three’ axiom won’t apply, or is RPI too good to lose again in Friday night’s (7) playoff semifinal at Lynah Rink?

“Well, we hope we are,” said RPI senior right winger Allysen Weidner.

The 17-8-6 Big Red, who lost only two league games all season (14-2-6) beat RPI 3-1 at Houston Field House early in the season and 2-1 at Lynah two weeks ago.
