TROY, N.Y. -- The Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI)
women’s ice hockey team hosts the 2009 RPI Youth Hockey Day
on Saturday and all area youth hockey teams are invited to the
Houston Field House as the Engineers take on ECAC Hockey rival
Quinnipiac University at 4pm. Admission is free and all players are
encouraged to wear their jerseys.
“This is a great opportunity for the area youth teams to see
what collegiate women’s hockey is all about,” explains
head coach John Burke. “It’s going to be a great
atmosphere at the Field House, including in-game activities and a
chance for all the fans to meet and interact with our team after
the game.”
Among the various activities for youth players and their families
to participate in will be a raffle, which will be held throughout
the game. Fans are encouraged to stop by the youth check-in table,
located in Section 1 of the Houston Field House to receive their
free raffle ticket.
