Bobcats Announce 2011-12 Schedule
HAMDEN, Conn. - Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey
head coach Rick Seeley has announced the Bobcats' 2011-12 schedule.
In addition to the Bobcats' ECAC Hockey slate, Quinnipiac will also
play Maine for its home opener on Oct. 7-8, as well as 2011 NCAA
Tournament participants Mercyhurst and Boston College. Quinnipiac
will also host Syracuse at home on Jan. 27-28.
Season tickets are on sale now while individual game tickets go on
sale in mid-September. Bobcat fans can purchase tickets by call the

Season tickets are $50 for adults and $24 for youth ages 2-12, as
well as senior citizens ages 65 and up.

Quinnipiac enjoyed its most successful season in program
history in 2010-11, posting an overall record of 22-12-3 which also
included a 12-9-1 record in ECAC Hockey play. The Bobcats upset
host Princeton in the ECAC Hockey Tournament Quarterfinals to
advance to the tournament semifinals for the first time in program
history. Freshman phenom Kelly Babstock re-wrote the Quinnipiac
freshman record books with an incredible season that saw her lead
all Division I freshmen skaters in goals, assists and points.
Babstock and 2009-10 ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Year Victoria
Vigilanti both earned All-ECAC Hockey honors.
The Bobcats season-opening tilt at Mercyhurst will take place on
Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 before Quinnipiac returns home on the following
weekend. The Bobcats' close-out October with four straight road
games over the final three weeks at Northeastern on Saturday, Oct.
15 and Boston College on Saturday, Oct. 21, before ending the month
with an ECAC Hockey weekend series at Rensselaer on Friday, Oct. 28
and Union on Saturday, Oct. 29.
Quinnipiac opens November with six straight ECAC Hockey contests before finishing the month with the Nutmeg Classic Tournament, hosted by the University of Connecticut, in Storrs, Conn. The Bobcats will host Yale on Friday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m. and Brown on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 4 p.m. On the following weekend, Quinnipiac heads to the North Country to take on Clarkson on Friday, Nov. 11 in Potsdam, N.Y., followed by a tilt against St. Lawrence in Canton, N.Y. on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 4 p.m. The Bobcats will then host Boston College for a non-conference match-up at the TD Bank Sports Center on Tuesday, Nov. 22 at 7 p.m. before heading up-state to play Connecticut on Friday, Nov. 25 in the Nutmeg Classic. The winner of that game will play the winner of the Robert Morris and Yale match-up on Saturday, Nov. 26.
December finds the Bobcats on the road to start the month when they travel to Providence, R.I. on Friday, Dec. 2 to face Brown before playing Elm City rival Yale on Saturday, Dec. 3 at 4 p.m. in New Haven, Conn. They will then play at Princeton on Dec. 9 before hosting the Tigers on the following afternoon at 4 p.m. The game will leave the Bobcats with close to a month off before their next contest on the first weekend of January.
Quinnipiac will open 2012 at home against Dartmouth on Friday, Jan. 6 and Harvard on Saturday, Jan. 7. Before heading to Cornell and Colgate on Jan. 13-14, respectively. The Bobcats then return home to host Syracuse for a two-game, non-conference weekend series on Friday, Jan. 27 and Saturday, Jan. 28.
The first week of February finds the Bobcats on the road again when they travel to Harvard and Dartmouth on Feb. 3-4 before closing out the month at home against St. Lawrence and Clarkson on Feb. 10-11 and Union and Rensselaer on Feb. 17-18. The ECAC Hockey Tournament Quarterfinals, to be played at the highest seed, are set for a best-of-three games series on Feb. 24-26 with the semifinals and championship game to be played on Mar. 3-4.
