Flori Recognized as Quinnipiac Athlete of Month

HAMDEN, Conn. - The Quinnipiac University Department of Athletics and Recreation has named women's ice hockey senior Kallie Flor (Farmington, Minn.) its January Athlete of the Month. This is the first time as Female Athlete of the Month for Flor.

Flor led the Bobcats to one of their best months in program history, as they posted a 7-2-0 overall record through January. The senior captain led the way for Quinnipiac with six goals and nine points on the month, as well as leading the team with a +8 on the ice. In the weekend sweep of No. 10-ranked Syracuse, Flor scored back-to-back game-winning goals, including the first overtime game-winner since Nov. 29, 2006. She also matched her career-high mark for goals in a game twice in January, scoring two goals against Syracuse on Jan. 15 and Wayne State on Jan. 23. Flor's leadership on the ice helped lead the Bobcats to their longest winning streak in program history (six games) and to three victories against nationally ranked programs, earning Quinnipiac votes in the National Polls for the past three weeks.
