Team Notes: Quinnipiac to Face Princeton
The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team will look to
get back on track when it hosts Princeton University on Tuesday,
Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn.

About Princeton University
Princeton comes to Hamden with a 1-1 ECAC Hockey record
and a 1-3 record overall. In its last game on October 30 against
Cornell University, Princeton was defeated, 5-1. Tigers junior
forward Paula Romanchuck scored the lone goal for Princeton in the
third period at the 5:12 mark. Romanchuck leads the Tigers with two
goals scored on the season, as freshmen forwards Sally Butler and
Denna Laing are the only other skaters who have netted goals thus
far. Between the pipes, sophomore goaltender Cassie Seguin has a
.922 save percentage this season with a 2.54 goals-against
average.
Past History Against The Tigers
Tuesday's game will be the 12th time the two teams will
have faced each other, as Princeton holds a 9-0-2 all-time series
lead. In their last meeting on January 2, 2010, Princeton defeated
Quinnipiac, 1-0. Freshman goaltender Victoria
Vigilanti (Woodbridge, Ontario) recorded 26 saves on the
evening.
Last Time Out
On Saturday, Oct. 30, Quinnipiac lost in overtime to
Colgate University, 2-1. Freshman forward Elena
Orlando (Chico, Calif.) tallied her first-career goal with
12:49 to go in the third period. Sophomore forward Kristen
Eklund (Barrington, R.I.) earned her second assist of the
season on the goal. Vigilanti turned away 37 shots in the contest,
her second-highest total on the year.
Wheeler Keeps Rolling
Junior forward Kate
Wheeler (Oakville, Ontario) scored her sixth goal of the
season on Friday, Oct. 29 against Cornell University. Wheeler is
now tied for the team-lead in goals with freshman forward Erica
Uden Johansson (Sundsvall, Sweden) and is tied for third
on the team in total points with eight. The six goals in a season
is also a new career-high for the junior forward.
Busy Between The Pipes
Vigilanti made a season-high 39 saves against Cornell
University on Friday, Oct. 29. She followed with a 37-save
performance the following night on Saturday, Oct. 30 against
Colgate University.
California Girl
Freshman forward Elena
Orlando, a Chico, California native, netted her first-career
goal for the Bobcats on Saturday, Oct. 30 against Colgate
University. She is just the third freshman to score a goal for
Quinnipiac this season.
History On Their Side
Despite losing their last two games, the Bobcats have not endured
a three-game losing streak since the 2008-09 season.
On The Road
Quinnipiac returns to action on Friday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. when it
travels to Schenectady, N.Y. to face Union College. On Saturday,
Nov. 6 at 4 p.m. it will face Rensselaer in Troy, N.Y.
