Team Notes: Quinnipiac Hosts First League Series

The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team will play
their first ECAC Hockey weekend series of the 2009-10 season when
they host Union College and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute at the
TD Bank Sports Center Friday and Saturday. The Bobcats will face
off against the Dutchwomen on Friday at 7 p.m., and will play the
Engineers on Saturday at 4 p.m.
Scouting the Dutchwomen
Union has posted a 2-4 record so far this season, losing to the
University of Connecticut, 4-1, in their last outing on Oct. 24.
Sophomore forward Lauren Hoffman leads the Dutchwomen with six
points (4 goals, 2 assists) in six games played. Freshman
goaltender Alana Marcinko has played in five games this season, and
posts a .913 save percentage with a 2.50 goals-against average.
Scouting the Engineers
RPI has earned a 2-4-2 record this season, most recently dropping
two games against Syracuse on Oct. 23 and 24. Senior defender Laura
Gersten leads the Engineers with six points (1 goal, 5 assists),
with senior forward Whitney Naslund right on her heels with five
points (3 goals, 2 assists). Junior goaltender Sonja van der Bliek
has seen action in seven games this season for RPI, posting a .915
save percentage with a 2.14 goals-against average.
