Team Notes: Quinnipiac Hosts Princeton

The Quinnipiac University women’s ice hockey team returns
to action this week after a two-week hiatus. The Bobcats will play
host to Princeton University Tuesday night at the TD Banknorth
Sports Center at 7 p.m. In its last game, Quinnipiac tied
Rennselaer, 3-3, on Jan. 10 in Troy, N.Y.
Scouting the Tigers
Princeton is 11-8-1 overall this season and 8-5-0 in ECAC
Hockey. Most recently the Tigers defeated Union 3-1 on Jan. 10.
Junior forward Melanie Wallace leads Princeton with five goals and
13 assists. Senior goaltender Kristen Young has started all 20
games for the Tigers and posts a .919 save percentage.
Last Game Against Princeton
The Bobcats and the Tigers last squared off on Dec. 2 at the Hobey
Baker Arena. The teams were tied, 2-2, going in the third period,
but Princeton scored two late goals in the third to give them the
4-2 victory. Evelina Husar (Eskilstuna, Sweden) and Chelsea Illchuk
(Lockhart, Manitoba) each scored their second goals of the season
in the game for the Bobcats. Goaltender Tia Wishart (Vancouver
Island, British Columbia) made 32 saves in the loss.
