Team Notes: Quinnipiac Hosts Niagara

The Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey team will play host to Niagara University in a two-game series this weekend at the TD Bank Sports Center. The Bobcats and the Purple Eagles will face off Friday, Oct. 23 at 7 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 24 at 4 p.m. In their last game, Quinnipiac defeated Northeastern, 1-0, on Oct. 17.
Scouting the Purple Eagles
Niagara currently holds a 1-3-2 record on their season,
most recently falling, 6-1, to the University of New Hampshire on
Oct. 18. Three players on the team rank first in points with four.
Freshman forward Jenna Hendrikx has scored four goals, senior
forward Mary McKinnon has tallied three goals and one assist, and
senior forward Jennifer MacLean has recorded one goal and three
assists. Junior goaltender Jenni Bauer has started all six games in
net for Niagara, posting a .895 save percentage.
Last Time Against Niagara
The Bobcats and the Purple Eagles last met on Dec. 30,
2007 when they played in the Nutmeg Classic Consolation Game at the
TD Bank Sports Center. The teams tied, 3-3, in regulation but the
Bobcats were credited with the win in a shootout. Current seniors
Breana Burton (Surrey, British Columbia), Janine Duffy (Toronto,
Ontario), and Kallie Flor (Farmington, Minn.) each scored a goal in
regulation, while Elyse Cole scored the game-winner in the
shootout.
