Quinnipiac Partnership to Benefit Ronald McDonald House
HAMDEN, Conn. -- The Quinnipiac University women’s ice
hockey program has teamed up with the Holiday Inn in North Haven,
Conn., to benefit the Ronald McDonald House. The Holiday Inn North
Haven is currently offering rooms at a discounted rate of $95 per
night while making donations to the Ronald McDonald House in New
Haven, Conn.
The promotion is open to the public and can be used by referencing
the team’s discount code: ILCORHOC. The Holiday Inn North
Haven will automatically donate $5 to the team’s Ronald
McDonald House fundraiser for each room stay using the code.
Friends, family, recruits, spectators and visiting teams are
encouraged to take advantage of this offer while helping a great
cause.
“With the recent economic hardships there has been a greater
demand for charitable donations,” said Rick Seeley,
Quinnipiac women’s ice hockey head coach. “This is an
opportunity to not only save some money yourself, but assist a
worthy cause in the form of the Ronald McDonald House.”
The women’s ice hockey team will also donate, prepare and
cook a monthly meal for guests of the Ronald McDonald House and
participate in its annual spring cleaning.
With a limited number of paid staff members, the Ronald McDonald
House relies on donations to offset 94 percent of its operating
costs as well as assistance from approximately 75 volunteers. The
organization has housed families from 46 states and 136 countries
while their children are being treated at the Yale Cancer Center.
Although approximately 80 percent of the families include cancer
patients, the Ronald McDonald House also houses the families of
many premature babies and liver patients.
The Holiday Inn North Haven is located at 201 Washington Avenue,
North Haven, CT 06473, and discounted reservations can be made by
calling 877-863-4780 and referencing code ILCORHOC.
