Team Notes: Bobcats Host Harvard and Dartmouth

The Quinnipiac University women’s ice hockey team plays
host to ECAC Hockey conference foes Harvard and Dartmouth this
weekend. The Bobcats face the Crimson on Friday at 7 p.m. and the
Big Green on Saturday at 4 p.m. The Bobcats are 1-3 at home so far
this season.
Scouting the Crimson
Harvard women’s is currently ranked third in the nation in
the USCHO.com Division I Women’s Poll. The Crimson have yet
to play a regular season game, but have played one exhibition game,
a 3-2 victory against McGill University on Oct. 25. Harvard
finished 32-2 and 22-0 in the ECAC last season earning them the
conference championship title and a trip to the NCAA Frozen Four
where they lost to the National Champion Minnesota Duluth. Senior
forward Sarah Vallaincourt led the Crimson last season with 26
goals and 36 assists. Junior goaltender Christina Kessler started
32 games last season and posted a .952 save percentage while
setting the NCAA Division I single-season shutout record with 12.
The Bobcats have yet to register a win against the Crimson posting
a 0-6 record in the past three seasons.
Scouting the Big Green
Dartmouth is currently ranked seventh in the nation in
the USCHO.com Division I Women’s Poll. The Big Green will
play their first regular season games this weekend, taking on
Princeton Friday night before they face Quinnipiac on Saturday.
Dartmouth also played McGill in an exhibition game on Oct. 24
losing 3-2. Dartmouth finished 18-9-6 overall and 13-5-4 in the
ECAC last season. Senior forward Maggie Kennedy led the Big Green
last season with 16 goals and 23 assists. Senior goaltender Carli
Clemis played in 27 games last season and posted a .905 save
percentage. The Bobcats have gone 0-5-1 against Dartmouth over the
past three seasons.
