Quinnipiac Assistants Enjoy Busy Summer

HAMDEN, Conn. -- Quinnipiac University women's ice hockey associate head coach Harry Rosenholtz and assistant coach Cassandra Turner have been busy this offseason. Each coach played an integral role in the development camps of the Canadian and United States National Women's Ice Hockey teams.

Rosenholtz worked at the U-16 USA National Hockey Camp in Rochester, N.Y. from July 24-August 1. He was specifically involved in skill development while assisting with the evaluation of the goaltenders for eligibility with the US U-18 national team. This was Rosenholtz's first time working with the camp.

"I was impressed by the body and talent of the coaching staff that ran the camp," Rosenholtz said, "Everyone was committed to focusing on players' improvement. USA Hockey is dedicated to that and I was happy to contribute."

Rosenholtz has also been asked to give a presentation entitled "Training the Modern Female Goaltender" at USA Hockey's Women's Coaching Seminar this Saturday, August 16th.

Assistant Coach Cassandra Turner has been assigned to serve as one of the assistant coaches at the Canada National Women's U-22 team selection camp from August 10-17 at York University in Toronto, Ontario.

Forty of Canada's top female players have been invited to the camp to be evaluated with the final roster announced on August 17. These forty players are split up into two teams, Canada Red and Canada White, for the duration of the camp. Turner will serve as assistant on the Canada White team, led by head coach Pierre Alain.

"This is such a wonderful learning opportunity," Turner said, "It's so exciting to coach some of the best players in Canada. All the people here are wonderful and are committed to success."

The players that are chosen will go on to play in a three game series against the USA's Women's Under-22 Select Team at the Pierrefonds Sportsplexe in Pierrefonds, Quebec August 20 through August 23.
