Team Notes: Quinnipiac Hosts Capital District Tandem

The Quinnipiac University women’s ice hockey plays host to
ECAC conference opponents Rensselaer and Union this weekend. The
Bobcats play RPI Friday afternoon at 3 p.m., before the Men’s
Ice Hockey game against Providence at 7 p.m. They will play Union
Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. In their most recent game, the Bobcats
were defeated by Princeton on Dec. 2, 4-2.
Scouting the Engineers
RPI is 8-5-2 this season overall and 4-1-1 in ECAC Hockey. In
their last game the Engineers defeated Robert Morris, 2-0. Junior
Whitney Naslund and freshman Alisa Harrison lead RPI with four
goals and eight assists, respectively. Harrison has been named the
ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week twice this season and ranks 6th
among ECAC freshman in points per game (0.80). Sophomore goaltender
Sonja van der Bliek has played in 13 games for the Engineers,
posting a .910 save percentage.
Scouting the Dutchwomen
Union is 2-13-1 this season overall and 0-6-0 in conference. The
Dutchwomen are coming off two victories over Sacred Heart last
weekend in Bridgeport, Conn. Four Dutchwomen are tied for the lead
in points with six apiece. Senior forward Suzy Pocock has four
goals and two assists, junior defender Jackie Koetteritz has three
goals and three assists, sophomore forward Marissa Gentile has two
goals and four assists and freshman forward Adelle Calahan has one
goal and five assists. Senior goaltender Lundy Day has seen action
in 16 games for Union, posting a .905 save percentage.
