Team Notes: Princeton Hosts No. 10 Harvard & Dartmouth as League Play Resumes

PRINCETON, N.J. - Conference play resumes for the Princeton women's hockey team when it hosts No. 10 Harvard and Dartmouth at Baker Rink this weekend, Jan.6-7. The Tigers take on the Crimson on Friday at 7 p.m., and the Big Green on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Princeton enters the weekend with a 6-9-3 overall record, and is coming off of back-to-back ties at Ohio State. The Tigers are 5-6-1 in the ECAC to sit in fifth place in the standings. Sophomore Sally Butler leads the team in scoring with nine goals and seven assists for 16 points. Denna Laing has a team-best eight assists to go along with six goals for 14 points. Olivia Mucha contributes 10 points on four goals and six assists. Senior Paula Romanchuk and freshman Ali Pankowski each add eight points. Senior Rachel Weber has started in all 18 games and has a .929 save percentage and a 2.10 goals against average. The Tigers average 2.00 goals per game, while allowing 2.22 gpg.

Harvard leads Princeton in the all-time series, 38-28-4. The Tigers went 1-0-1 against the Crimson last season, playing to a 2-2 tie at home before taking a 3-2 game on the road.

Harvard is on a four-game win streak and is ranked No. 10 in the USCHO.com national poll. The Crimson are 9-4 overall and 6-2 in the ECAC, in third place with Cornell. Junior Jillian Dempsey is the team's leading scorer with 10 goals and nine assists for 19 points. Sophomore Lyndsey Fry is three points back with nine goals and seven assists. Defenders Marissa Gedman and Josephine Pucci add 11 points apiece. Junior Laura Bellamy has started all 13 games in goal. She has a .919 save percentage and a 2.00 GAA. Harvard averages 3.69 gpg and allow 2.00. The Crimson's power play is at 24.1% (14/58) and the penalty kill is 85.7% (54/63).

Princeton has a 36-29-4 edge in the series with Dartmouth, which began in 1980. The Tigers are 19-10-4 when hosting the Big Green. Dartmouth swept the series last year, 3-2 in OT and 7-0.

Dartmouth is 7-5-1 overall and is on a two -game win streak, and has won four of its last five games. The Big Green are seventh in the ECAC with a 4-3-1 record. Senior Kelly Foley has scored 10 goals and has 15 points total. Junior Camielle Dumais has a team-high nine helpers and five goals for 14 points. Senior Reagan Fischer adds three goals and eight assists for 11 points. Sophomore goalie Lindsay Holdcroft has a .921 save percentage and a 2.10 GAA in 10 games. Freshman Katie Milligan has played in the remainder and has an .873 save percentage and a 3.27 GAA.
