Kampersal and Sherry Represent Princeton at USA Hockey Festival
PRINCETON - Princeton women's hockey head coach Jeff Kampersal and recent graduate Sasha Sherry '11 are currently taking part in the 2011 USA Hockey Women's National Festival, which runs through August 20 at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.
The Festival will serve as the selection camp for the 2011 U.S. Women's Team that will compete in the International Ice Hockey Federation Eight Nations Tournament in Vierumäki, Finland, Aug. 24-31.
Sherry graduated in June as one of the most decorated players in the history of Princeton's women's hockey program. As a sophomore she became the first Princetonian to earn All-America honors and she is a four-time All-ECAC and All-Ivy League selection. She completed her Tiger career with 24 goals and 52 assists for 76 points in 118 games. She wore the Red, White and Blue at the 2008 IIHF U-18 World Championships and competed on two U-22 series against Canada in each of the last two summers.
Kampersal is making his fourth appearance coaching at the U.S. Women's Festival after taking part in the 2004, 2005 and 2006 seasons. Entering his 16th season at the helm of the Princeton women's team, Kampersal has a 233-184-41 record and is a three-time ECAC Coach of the Year Award winner.
