Team Notes: Princeton Returns Home to Face Brown/Yale

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Princeton women's hockey team hosts its first ECAC Hockey games of the season on Nov. 4 & 5, as Brown and Yale come to Baker Rink. The Tigers host Brown on Friday at 7 p.m., and Yale on Saturday at 4 p.m.

Both games will be Web streamed on GoPrincetonTigers.com for subscribers and live stats will be available free of charge.

During both games, the Princeton women's hockey team will be collecting funds for the Mandy Schwartz Foundation. The mission of the Mandi Schwartz Foundation is to provide immediate and ongoing support to youth hockey players with cancer. We embody Mandi's courage and spirit to raise awareness and create catalytic and self- sustaining support systems within the communities of the athletes we sponsor. This will include guidance for post treatment care and attention, while also raising awareness for cord blood donation within their state or province.

The Tigers are 2-1-1 on the season and undefeated in ECAC play with a 1-0-1 mark, defeating Union and tying Rensselaer on the road last weekend. Sophomore Sally Butler is the team's leading scorer with three goals and two assists for five points. Linesmates Olivia Mucha and Denna Laing each have four points. Juniors Kelly Cooke and Corey Stearns along with senior Paula Romanchuk have two points apiece. Senior Rachel Weber has made 97 saves on 105 shots for a 1.99 goals against average and a .924 save percentage.

Princeton owns a 34-29-2 advantage in the all-time series with Brown, which began in 1980. The Tigers won both meetings last year, earning a 4-0 shutout at home and a 4-2 win on the road.

Brown is 1-1-1 with its win against Sacred Heart, while earning a tie against Colgate and a loss at Cornell. Senior Katelyn Landry and sophomore Emilie Dolan both have four points with Landry's all coming by way of goals. The pair have also combined for two short handed goals. Laurie Jolin, Skyelar Siwak and Janice Young all have three points. Sophomore Aubree Moore the better numbers of the two goalies. She has a 2.07 GAA and a .935 save percentage in 116 minutes. Junior Katie Jamieson is 1-1 with a 5.22 GAA and an .838 save percentage in 69minutes.

The Tigers have a substantial 53-11-2 edge in the all-time series with Yale, including a 27-7 mark when playing at Baker Rink. The teams split last year with Yale taking a 2-1 game in Princeton and the Tigers rebounding with a 4-1 win in New Haven.

Yale is 0-5 on the season and lost league games at Cornell and Colgate. The Bulldogs have scored four goals and allowed 34, giving up nine goals in two games. Sophomore Jackie Raines has tallied two goals and freshman Stephanie Mock has a team-leading two assists to sit atop the scoring column. Seven other players have one point. Senior Genny Ladiges and freshman Jaimie Leonoff have split goaltending duties. Ladiges has played about 64 percent of the time and has a 5.91 GAA and a .859 save percentage. Leonoff has an 8.44 GAA and a .830 save percentage.
