PRINCETON - The Princeton women's hockey team travels to Boston
this weekend to take on fourth-ranked Harvard in a best-of-three
ECAC Quarterfinal series at the Bright Hockey Center. Princeton
took the season series from Harvard with a win and tie but both
games went to overtime.
Princeton split its games last weekend, falling to Brown in
overtime last Friday and blanking Yale on Saturday in the regular
season finale. On Friday, Danielle DiCesare and Corey Stearns
scored to give Princeton a 2-0 lead, but three straight Bear goals
gave Brown a third period lead. Charissa Stadnyk evened the game at
3-3 quickly but a Brown goal with 19 seconds remaining in overtime
gave the Bears the 4-3 triumph.
The Tigers bounced back a day later with two goals in the first
and third periods and 20 saves from Rachel Weber to blank Yale 4-0
and complete the home schedule with a win. Paula Romanchuk,
Stadnyk, Heather Landry and Julie Johnson had the goals for the
Tigers.
