The Princeton women’s hockey team brings its five-game winning streak into an ECAC and Ivy League weekend at home against Yale and Brown. The Tigers moved into third place in the league standings with a win Tuesday as they battle for a top-four finish and a home-ice playoff spot.

Princeton showed little rust as it returned from the final exam break with a 2-1 win at Quinnipiac on Tuesday to sweep the season series from its travel partner. The win was Princeton’s fifth in a row. Since a 3-3 tie at Boston College the day after Thanksgiving, Princeton is 10-2-1 as the Tigers have climbed to four games over .500 and into the upper half of the ECAC standings.

On Tuesday the Tigers scored two goals three minutes apart in the second period to build up a lead it would not relinquish. Senior Christine Foster put the Tigers ahead and freshman Charissa Stadnyk scored what turned out to be the game-winning goal. Freshman Heather Landry had two assists in the game and classmate Julie Johnson added one. Princeton was also strong defensively as the Tigers held the Bobcats to a single goal, the fifth-straight game in which the Tigers have surrendered just one goal or less.
