PRINCETON - The Princeton women's hockey team hits the road for
Northern New York this weekend for its final league weekend of the
2009 calendar year. The Tigers visit St. Lawrence and fourth-ranked
Clarkson for games on Friday and Saturday afternoons.
The Tigers have split each of their last two weekends and a single
goal, or two with an empty netter, has decided each of their last
five games. The stretch began with a 2-1 overtime win at Harvard
three weeks ago and continued over the last four home games with
3-2 and 3-1 wins over Colgate and Boston University, and losses of
1-0 and 3-2 to Cornell and Boston University.
Last weekend the Tigers split with BU, winning on Friday and
falling on Saturday. In the win, the Tigers pulled ahead with two
power-play goals in the first period to build an insurmountable
lead that was sealed with an empty-net goal. A day later, it was BU
that struck first, taking leads of 1-0 and 2-1, but the Tigers came
back to tie the score at 1-1 and 2-2, but could not overcome the
third Terrier goal.
