The following article appeared October 23 on the Princeton Web site.

The puck drops on the 2008-09 Princeton women’s hockey season this weekend when 10th-ranked Connecticut visits Hobey Baker Rink for a pair of games. UConn enters the weekend already having played eight games this season, while Princeton has played on exhibition game and had two scrimmages.

Live video for both games, as well as all women’s hockey home and select road games, will be available in TigerZone, the home of streaming video for Princeton Athletics. For more information, click here.

The Tigers open up at home for the second season in a row. Last season Princeton opened with a single game against Boston College and a league contest with Quinnipiac. Both games ended tied, which is how Princeton’s last four season openers have ended. Princeton opened 2004-05 with a tie at Providence, 2005-06 with a tie against Boston College in Buffalo, 2006-07 with a tie at Boston College and 2007-08 at home with a tie against Boston College. Princeton is unbeaten in its last six season openers (2-0-4). Once of those wins was a win at Connecticut to start the 2003-04 season.
