Team Notes: Princeton Visits Defending NCAA Champions

The Princeton women’s hockey team closes out the first
part of the season this weekend with a pair of games at
third-ranked and defending National Champion Minnesota-Duluth. The
Tigers’ trip to the state of Minnesota is its first since the
2005-06 season.
Princeton enters the weekend with a 6-7-1 overall and a 4-5-0 ECAC
Hockey record. The Tigers went 2-1 last week in league action,
picking up wins over Quinnipiac and Union, before being tripped up
by Rensselaer on Saturday in their last game. The loss snapped a
stretch where Princeton had gone 4-1-1 and had climbed back to .500
after a slow start.
Princeton’s four points over the week put the Tigers in a
tie with Cornell for sixth in the ECAC standings with eight points.
With 13 league games remaining, the Tigers sit five points behind a
first-place tie between Dartmouth, Rensselaer and St. Lawrence, but
only two spots ahead of eight-place Yale and Colgate, which
represents the final playoff slot for the post season.
