The Princeton women’s hockey team makes its first road
trip of the season this weekend to Central New York to face Cornell
and Colgate in league action. Princeton currently stands 1-3 on the
season following losses to Dartmouth and Harvard a week ago.
Last weekend the Tigers were on the short end of losses to Ivy
rivals Dartmouth and Harvard. In both games the Tigers fell behind
early and rallied late to make the finals close. On Friday,
Dartmouth raced to a 3-0 lead through two periods before Princeton
scored twice in the third period in an attempt to come back.
Freshman Heather Landry scored both goals in the game and junior
Stephanie Denino had an assist on each.
Princeton fell into a bigger hole the following day, trailing by
as many as five goals, 6-1, midway through the third period.
Princeton scored the game’s final three goals and pressured
late but could only get as close as 6-4. Freshman Paula Romanchuk
and sophomore Sasha Sherry each had a goal and two assists in the
loss. Junior Maddie Endicott had a goal and an assist as well.
