Tigers Announce Class of 2011

The Princeton women's hockey team has announced its incoming class that will join the team for the 2007-08 season. The group of four players includes one American and three Canadians, and will join a Tiger team that was 16-12-3 last season and finished fourth in the ECAC Hockey standings.

The class is comprised of two forwards: Jenna Hauca (Nanaimo, B.C.) and Caroline Park (Brampton, Ont.), and two defenders Laura Martindale (Kingston, Ont.) and Sasha Sherry (Lehighton, Pa.). The four will join Princeton's 17 returning players when practices begin this coming fall.

"We are expecting Jenna, Laura, Caroline, and Sasha to compete hard in all phases of the Princeton experience as well as add character and enthusiasm to our team culture," said Princeton Head Coach Jeff Kampersal.

Jenna Hauca
Forward

Nanaimo, B.C.

  • Pacific Steelers

Hauca has spent her past two seasons playing for the Pacific Steelers. Last season she led her team and league in goals (35), assists (38) and points (73). Hauca served as an assistant captain for the team, which won its league championship and was a provincial semifinalist. The previous season she led the team in goals and points.

Laura Martindale
Defense

Kingston, Ont.

  • NCCP Jr. Raiders

Martindale played for both the NCCP Jr. Raiders and her high school. Last season she was the assistant captain of the Raiders and recorded 31 points for the team. She was also the captain and Most Valuable Player on her high school team. Martindale also competed for Team Ontario at the 2007 Canada Winter Games and won a gold medal with the team.

Caroline Park
Forward

Brampton, Ont.

  • Mississauga Jr. Chiefs

Park played for the Mississauga Jr. Chiefs last season and scored 28 goals and added 23 assists for 52 points. She was an assistant captain with the team. Park also played hockey at her high school and was named the team's Most Valuable Player and was the leading scorer as the team won a regional championship.

Sasha Sherry
Defense

Lehighton, Pa.

  • Shattuck St. Mary's

Sherry played high school hockey at Shattuck St. Mary's in Faribault, Minn. There she was a part of three National Championship teams for the Under-19 age group. As a senior, she contributed 70 points on 14 goals and 56 assists. A season earlier she recorded 56 points for S-SM.
