Shelly Pottorf has been hockey director of the Texas Blaze girls hockey program in the Midwest Elite Hockey League for three years. She is enjoying the challenges that come with the job, despite having been involved with the sport for many years.

For the 2007-08 season, the Blaze will field teams at the 12-U, 14-U, 16-U and 19-U levels. Pottorf also served as coach of the 14-U team last season.

The program is based out of Houston and Pottorf, along with the help of a hockey friend, Lisa Flanagan, has been working to get the organization's name on the map.
