One thing Princeton's Sasha Sherry will never do is underestimate the value of playing in USA Hockey National Championships.
Sherry (Lehighton, Pa.), a freshman defenseman,
graduated from Shattuck-St. Mary's in Faribault, Minn. During her
freshman, sophomore and seniors seasons, she played on Under-19
teams that won national championships in Colorado Springs, Buffalo
and San Jose, respectively.
"The first year I went, I had no idea of what was going on with a
national championship," said Sherry, who invariably was the
youngest player on each of those teams. "We went but everything was
new to me. I almost didn't know how to react.
"The second time I knew what was going on and could focus on the
games and the whole atmosphere. I had that experience and could
make the most of it."
