Young Honored by USCHO
Princeton junior goaltender Kristen
Young has been named Defensive Player of the Week by U.S.
College Hockey Online. Young, who garnered ECAC Hockey
Goaltender-of-the-Week honors, had a 48-save weekend as
Princeton swept Boston University and No. 1 New Hampshire.
On Saturday, Young made 26 saves leading the Tigers to a 4-2 at
Boston University in a performance that included a game-high 12
saves in the third period. A day later, Young was superb, making 21
saves to lead Princeton to a 2-1 win over the nation's top-ranked
team, New Hampshire. The win was Princeton's first-ever at UNH as
Princeton was 0-20-1 all-time on the road against the Wildcats.
Young has played every goaltending minute of the season for Princeton thus far, with a 2.10 goals-against average and a .916 save rate in seven games.
