Harvard Adds Five for 2011-12 Campaign
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard women's ice hockey team will welcome five freshmen to its roster in preparation for the 2011-12 season, Katey Stone, The Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey, announced Monday. The class of 2015 is comprised of two defenders, two forwards and a goalie.
The quintet of freshmen will look to help the Crimson get back to the NCAA tournament after just missing out in 2010-11. Last year's squad earned a berth in the ECAC Tournament semifinals and had five players earn All-ECAC Hockey accolades.
Here's a look at the class of 2015:
Hillary Crowe, Freshman, Forward, 5-11, Eden Prairie,
Minn./The Blake School
Four-year member of the hockey team and also played
soccer and lacrosse at The Blake School … Captained soccer,
hockey and lacrosse teams as a senior … Received the Athena
Award as a senior as The Blake School's Outstanding Female Athlete
… Received all-conference accolades all four years with
hockey team … Two-time all-metro and all-state pick …
Named team Most Valuable Forward as a junior and senior …
Led team to state championship in 2009, scoring the winning goal in
the championship game … Top 10 Ms. Hockey finalist as a
senior … 2009 member of USA Hockey development camp all-star
team … A two-time all-state lacrosse pick and three-time
lacrosse state champion … Two-time recipient of the Dean's
Recognition Award … Enjoys wake surfing, snowboarding and
kayaking … Father, Kyle Crowe, played football at Iowa and
led team to Big Ten title in 1986.

Sarah Edney, Freshman, Defense, 5-6, Mississauga,
Ont./Our Lady of Mount Carmel SS
Three-year member of varsity hockey team at Our Lady of
Mount Carmel and also played varsity flag football, softball and
track and field … Served as assistant captain of the hockey
team as a junior … Captained Team Canada Under-18 squad in
2011 and led team to silver medal at Women's World U18 Championship
… Team Ontario U18 team captain in 2011 and helped squad to
silver medal at Canada Games … Also captain of club team,
Mississauga Junior Chiefs, and led team to gold and silver medals
in provincial championships … Named Mississauga Female High
School Athlete of the Year in 2010-11 … Named junior and
senior Student Athlete of the Year and hockey team MVP in 2010
… Enjoys running, swimming, triathlons and playing the
piano.

Michelle Picard, Freshman, Defense, 5-6, Taunton,
Mass./Noble & Greenough School
Four-year member of the hockey team and three-year member
of the softball team at Noble & Greenough … Served as
captain of both teams as a senior … Also captained the U.S.
National Women's Under-18 Team in 2011 … 2011 Nobles Shield
recipient for hockey and two-time all-conference selection …
Received the Newell Hockey Cup as a senior … Led hockey team
to four league championships and regional titles in 2008 and '09
… Captured a silver medal with U.S. U18 team at 2010 Women's
Ice Hockey World Championships and a gold medal in 2011 …
Three-time all-conference softball pick and led team to league
championships in 2009 and '10 … Academic distinction all
four years of high school and 2010 Harvard Book Club Award

Tiana Press, Freshman., Goalie, 5-6, Minnetonka,
Minn./St. Margaret's
Lettered all four years as a hockey player at St.
Margaret's … Served as team captain as a junior and senior
… Posted an 18-3-1 record as a senior goalie, including
back-to-back shutouts in the first two rounds of the 2011 section
playoffs … Recorded a 1.24 goals-against average in senior
season … One of five finalists for the Let's Play
Hockey Senior Goalie of the Year award … Selected
to the all-conference team twice … Led the North Suburban
Conference in save percentage in three of her four years …
An all-state hockey pick as a junior … National Honor
Society member and volunteer at Andrea Miller Foundation …
Father, Tom Press, wrestled at Minnesota and was a U.S. Olympic
team member.

Samantha Reber, Freshman, Forward, 5-9, Edina,
Minn./Edina
Four-year letterwinner on Edina hockey team and
three-year member of soccer team … Served as captain of both
teams as a senior … A four-year all-conference hockey
selection and Best Offensive Player pick in 2008 …
Three-time national camp attendee and national camp all-star game
member in 2008 and 2010 … Two-time all-state honoree and
named to all-state tournament team three times … Top 10 Ms.
Hockey finalist as a senior … Led Edina to first appearance
in state high school tournament in team history … Four-time
honor roll student and recipient of the George Eastman Young
Leaders Award … Edina Academic Scholar and Athletic Scholar
in 2011 … Father, Bill Reber, played hockey at Vermont and
was drafted by the Los Angeles Kings … Brother, Josh, played
hockey at Colby and brother, Matt, played hockey at Dartmouth and
currently plays for the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL.
