U.S. Winter Training Camp a Showcase for Crimson
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Four Harvard standouts and two former Crimson greats are among 41 of the nation's top players who will take part in the 2011 USA Hockey Women's Winter Training Camp, from Dec. 26-31 in Blaine, Minn., USA Hockey announced. The six-day camp, which will take place at the National Sports Center's Schwan Super Rink, will serve as an evaluation camp and training session for the U.S. Women's National Team.
Defensemen Marissa Gedman, Michelle Picard and Josephine Pucci, and forward Jillian Dempsey headline the selections for the Crimson. The quartet is joined by former Crimson standouts Caitlin Cahow and Julie Chu. Chu is a three-time U.S. Olympian, while Cahow has represented the U.S. at two Olympic Games.
The U.S. National Team is led by head coach Katey Stone of Harvard. Former Princeton standout Laura Halldorson serves as an assistant coach.
