VANCOUVER, British Columbia - In her 250th game as a U.S. hockey
player, Angela Ruggiero helped erase one bad memory, then took aim
at another.
Ruggiero scored Team USA’s third goal in a 9-1 rout of
Sweden on Monday in a semifinal matchup at the Vancouver Olympics.
It was in that round of play four years ago in Torino that Sweden
stunned the Americans 3-2.
“It’s something you don’t really have to speak
about, but we all remember,” Ruggiero said. “Even the
players who weren’t there know just how unpredictable the
Olympics can be.
