Cahow has Sights on Gold Medal
The following article featuring former Harvard standout Caitlin Cahow appeared February 12 on the NBC Connecticut Web site.
Team USA Hockey Player Caitlin Cahow from Branford enjoyed being
a role model. She said "When I go to work at the rink I inevitably
run into some six or seven- year old girl who says, 'oh my gosh can
I have your autograph because you're my hero?' I can't imagine a
better job or a more important responsibility. That's why I keep
waking up and playing because you can touch people's lives that you
would never have imagined."
Caitlin Cahow was once that six-year old girl in Branford. She
started out in figure skating---her mother's sport---until she
discovered a hockey game at Yale.
Cahow said "the Yale women's hockey team had a women's matinee
game against Dartmouth. I had never seen girls play hockey before
and it was the most amazing thing. Some of the players came out on
the ice with ponytails. I was sold. I was hooked. And never really
looked back."
