Julie Chu hopes everyone knows she’ll be drug-free when she
plays for the U.S. women’s ice hockey team at the Olympics.
And she’s not bashful about spreading that message.
“I want my performance to be because of me, not because I
had to take something,” said Chu, who will talk to Steele
Elementary School students Monday about anti-doping efforts.
The three-time Olympian is one of seven American athletes
advocating clean competition through a revamped U.S. Anti-Doping
Agency program, designed to increase awareness with online videos
and pledges before the Vancouver Games begin next week.
