No. 4 Harvard to Face No. 6 Clarkson in Semifinals

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- After defeating Princeton with a two-game
sweep in the ECAC Hockey quarterfinals, the fourth-ranked Harvard
women's hockey team will travel to play No. 6 Clarkson in a
semfinal matchup Friday, March 5 at 7 p.m.
Harvard, the No. 3 seed in the tournament, will visit Clarkson,
the No. 2 seed. Cornell, the overall No. 1 seed in the ECAC Hockey
championship, will host the other semifinal game against
Rensselaer. The two winners of Friday's semifinal round will play
at the home site of the highest remaining seed in the ECAC Hockey
final Sunday, March 7.
The Crimson stands at 20-6-5 on the year and has won four of its
last five games, with the other contest ending in a 3-3 tie at
Clarkson Feb. 20. Harvard defeated Princeton, 5-1, in Game 1 of its
series, before closing out the quarterfinals with a 4-1 victory in
Game 2. Clarkson owns a 22-10-5 record this year and was 1-0-1
against the Crimson during the regular season.
With Harvard's victory Friday, Katey Stone, the Landry Family Head
Coach for Harvard Women's Ice Hockey, became the all-time
winningest coach in Division I history. Stone, who has spent all 16
of her seasons as a head coach with the Crimson, has won 339
contests.
