Wearing the Team USA logo and carrying her hockey stick into battle will likely have a whole new meaning for three-time U.S. Olympian Angela Ruggiero after she was part of Pro Sports MVP's Olympic Heroes 2008 Goodwill Military Tour of Qatar and Afghanistan in early January.
Ruggiero saw first hand during the trip what military heroes put on the line each day while wearing the American flag on their sleeves.
She shared the experience with Shawn Crawford, two-time track & field medalist; Jessica Mendoza, softball gold medalist; Shannon Miller, seven-time gymnastics medalist; Ruggiero; and Mike Whitmarsh, beach volleyball medalist.
