The following article appeared October 21 on the Harvard Web site.
The Harvard women's hockey team enters the 2008-09 campaign
ranked third nationally and with its annual high goals of competing
for Ivy League, ECAC Hockey and NCAA titles clearly in sight.
Last season, the team once again proved to be among the
nation’s best, compiling a 32-2-0 mark which included an NCAA
record 21-game win streak. Harvard became the first women’s
ECAC Hockey team to go unbeaten against league teams in the regular
and postseason. The Crimson was 22-0-0 against ECAC opponents in
the regular season and 5-0-0 in the postseason.
Harvard captured the Beanpot, Ivy League and ECAC Hockey regular
season and tournament titles and reached the NCAA tournament for
the seventh time in the event’s eight-year history. Harvard
made its fifth-straight appearance in the Frozen Four, was a
national semifinalist and finished the season ranked No. 4.
