CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -– Harvard senior forward Sarah Vaillancourt and Katey Stone, the Landry Family Head Coach for Harvard Women’s Ice Hockey, will travel to Lake Placid, N.Y., Tuesday for the Four Nations Cup held Nov. 4-9. Vaillancourt, the 2008 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award recipient and gold medalist at the 2006 Turin Olympics, will play for Team Canada, while Stone will serve as the head coach for Team USA.

Several other Harvard alumnae will suit up at the upcoming tournament. Ruggiero has three Olympic medals to her credit, having won the gold at Nagano in 1998, the silver at Salt Lake City in 2002, and the bronze in 2006. Chu, meanwhile, also won the silver in 2002 and the bronze in 2006.

Joining Vaillancourt on Team Canada will be forward Jennifer Botterill ’02-03, the only two-time Patty Kazmaier award winner (2001 and 2003). Botterill is a two-time Olympic gold medalist (2002 and 2006) and also earned the silver in Nagano in 1998.

The competition will begin Tuesday with Canada playing Finland and the United States taking on Sweden. Canada, last year’s champion, will face Team USA Thursday at 7 p.m. at the 1980 Rink.

The bronze-medal game is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 9 at 11 a.m., followed by the gold-medal contest at 2:30 p.m.

USCHO.com will provide free live audio and video for all games during the tournament. Former Crimson standouts A.J. Mleczko ’97-99, the 1999 Patty Kazmaier winner, and Jamie Hagerman ’03, will serve as guest analysts for the broadcasts. Mleczko won the gold medal at the 1998 Olympics and the silver in 2002 at Salt Lake City, while Hagerman captured the silver at Turin in 2006 playing for Team USA.
