Cahow, Kessler, Vaillancourt Named All-New England

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Senior defenseman Caitlin Cahow, junior forward Sarah Vaillancourt and sophomore forward Christina Kessler have been named to the New England Hockey Writers Division I Women's All-Star team, which was announced Thursday.

The team will be presented at the New England Hockey Writers annual banquet on Wednesday, April 16 at the Prince Restaurant in Saugus, Mass.

Vaillancourt, this year's Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award winner, led the Crimson with 62 points (26-36-62) and helped the team reach its fifth Frozen Four. The junior forward was also honored as Player of the Year by ECAC Hockey and the Ivy League.

Cahow (15-22-37) was second among the nation's defenders with 1.09 points per game and was tied for second overall with 12 power-play goals.

Kessler posted a 30-2-0 record in net for Harvard and led the nation with a .952 save percentage (679 of 713). Kessler set the NCAA Division I shutout record by blanking 12 teams in 2007-08 and was second in the country with a 1.06 goals-against average.
