Catching Up with Jenna Hobeika
The following article featuring Dartmouth forward Jenna Hobeika appeared January 20 on the Dartmouth Web site.
HANOVER, N.H. — After being selected an assistant captain last season, and moving into the captain position with seniors Reagan Fischer (Irma, Alberta) and Kelly Foley (South Boston, Mass.) this year, senior Jenna Hobeika (Alpine, N.J.) has had an up-and-down journey as part of the women's hockey team. From injuries to a heavy course load, Hobeika has gone through trials to continue to play the sport she loves, but she really wouldn't have it any other way.
Hobeika got her start in hockey following in her mother's footsteps. Her mother, Linda, grew up in Ontario playing hockey, so early on Jenna was playing the sport along with her four brothers.
"I started at the club level and then around 11 I moved more to travel and AAA hockey," Hobeika said. "Then in eighth grade I went to prep school and played girl's hockey."
