Team Notes: Dartmouth Returns Home to Host RPI and Union

HANOVER, N.H. — Playing at historic Fenway Park, the team used a late goal by junior Camille Dumais (Beaconsfield, Quebec) to upend Providence, 3-2. Dumais took a pass from senior Kelly Foley (South Boston, Mass.) and was stuffed on her first attempt, but flipped the second shot over the goaltender’s skate for the game-winner.

It was the third point of the day for Dumais, who also assisted on two goals. Junior Sasha Nanji (Markham, Ontario) and freshman Karlee Odland (Vauxhall, Alberta) scored the other two.

SCOUTING THE BIG GREEN
The Dartmouth women’s hockey team enters the weekend with a 9-5-2 record overall, a 5-3-2 ECAC Hockey mark and are 2-1-1 in the Ivy League. FIRST GOAL AT FIRST BASE
Odland recorded her first collegiate goal on Tuesday in just her fourth career game after missing the first half of the season due to injury. Her first score came at Fenway Park and at the time gave the Big Green a 2-1 lead midway through the third period. With her tally, each Dartmouth freshman skater has recorded at least one point this season.

100 IN STYLE
For senior Moira Scanlon (Chicago, Ill.) the game at Fenway won’t just be remembered because of the novelty of the event, but also because she skated in her 100th game for the Big Green in her career. She became the 73rd player in the history of the program to reach the century mark.

Fellow senior Erica Dobos (Bethel Park, Pa.) also reached the 100 plateau against Northeastern on Nov. 26. Foley gets the chance to play in her 100th contest against RPI. Hobeika also has an opportunity to get to triple digits this year as she has played in 87 games.

ROAD WARRIORS
The Big Green have been almost unbeatable away from Thompson Arena this season. The victory against Providence was the first neutral-site game of the season  and improved Dartmouth to 7-1-2 away from Thompson, including unbeaten in its last nine games. The team last lost on the road in the first game of the season at fourth-ranked Boston College on Oct. 23.

PAYS TO SHOOT MORE
The offense forced the action against Providence and outshot the Friars, 31-20. It marked the seventh time this season the Big Green have outshot opponents. In all seven games, Dartmouth is unbeaten and has earned the victory in six of the contests. When the opponent takes more shots, the Big Green are 3-3-1.

NATIONAL RANKINGS
After not receiving any votes for almost a month, Dartmouth once again received votes in the USCHO.com Division I Women’s Poll. The Big Green received six votes with five teams receiving votes outside of the top 10.

For the first time this season, someone other than Wisconsin topped the poll with Minnesota grabbing the top spot after the Gophers beat the Badgers last weekend. Cornell is the highest-ranked ECAC Hockey team in third. Despite an 0-1-1 weekend, Harvard held on to the 10th spot.

The Big Green earned 17 votes in the USA Hockey/ESPN the Magazine Poll, just missing out on the top 10. Harvard is in 10th with 31 votes.

TIES & OVERTIME
The Big Green earned their second tie of the season on Saturday against Princeton. Dartmouth also skated to a 2-2 tie at Clarkson on Oct. 28. With each of their ties coming on the road, the Big Green have not had a tie at Thompson Arena since hosting Clarkson on Feb. 20, 2009. That game ended with the score knotted at four.

With the game going into overtime against the Tigers, it marked the fourth time this season the team has skated an extra session. In those games, Dartmouth is 1-1-2. The four overtime contests also tied the amount of overtime games the team played last season. The last time the team played more than four overtime games in a season was during the 2008-09 campaign when it had five.
