Dartmouth freshman goalie Lindsay Holdcroft, a North Allegheny graduate and former U-19 Girl’s AAA Pittsburgh Penguins Elite goalie, is having a successful freshman season at Dartmouth. Lindsay currently has a season record of 8-5 with a .876 save percentage and a 2.44 goals against average. Lindsay won ECAC Rookie of the Week for the week ending January 4th. She stopped 16 shots to record her first career shutout in a 5-0 win over the University of Connecticut Huskies on January 2nd.
Lindsay first started skating at North Park when she was two years old. She was inspired to play hockey by her dad and her older brother, who both played hockey. Lindsay has been a goaltender since the first team she played on, the North Pittsburgh Wildcats. “The team did not have a goalie, so I volunteered and I have been a goalie ever since,” Lindsay said.
Lindsay grew up watching the Penguins and idolized many of the Penguins' goalies throughout the years. “I remember watching Johan Hedberg when I was younger, but my favorite player now is Marc-Andre Fleury.”
