Catching Up with Larissa Roche
The following article featuring Dartmouth forward Larissa Roche appeared January 24 on the Dartmouth Web site.
HANOVER, N.H. — From the small town of Thorhild, Alberta, senior Larissa Roche has grown up with sport of ice hockey from her earliest days. She grew up traveling to her brother's hockey games with her dad.
"My dad always said I learned to play hockey in the back seat of our car," said Roche. "I would just listen to the two of them go over his game and pick up tips from that."
She learned to skate in the backyard rink her dad would build every year, and started playing the sport competitively in grade two. Roche started playing the game on boy's teams, but moved onto girl's teams once hitting came into play.
