Tyng Elevated to Associate Head Coach at Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. -- After working as a Dartmouth women's hockey assistant coach for six years, Holley Tyng has been promoted to associate head coach.

"I am excited that we are able to recognize Holley with this new title for her tremendous work," said head coach Mark Hudak. "She has certainly earned this during her time here as she is an invaluable asset to the team. Holley has the ability to be an outstanding head coach, and we are fortunate she has chosen to remain at Dartmouth."

During her time at Dartmouth, Tyng has helped lead the Big Green to two ECAC Hockey Tournament titles, an ECAC Hockey regular-season championship, an Ivy League title and four NCAA Tournament appearances. The team has a combined record of 111-63-18 overall, 79-38-13 in the ECAC and 38-17-5 in the Ivy League during her tenure.

Tyng is responsible for the defense and updating social media (Facebook & Twitter), while also assisting in scouting and opponent video breakdown.

"Holley's work with our players and our staff and her dedication to the school and team exemplify those qualities we expect from our collegiate coaches," said Hudak. "She is a great ambassador for Dartmouth when on the road recruiting, and a great mentor for our student-athletes here at school."

From 2002-2005, Tyng served as the girls' varsity hockey head coach at Tabor Academy in Marion, Mass. Over her final two years, she led the team to a 23-10-5 record and a pair of berths in the New England Tournament. Ten of the 12 seniors Tyng coached during her first two seasons went on to play for Division I or III women's collegiate hockey programs.

Prior to Tabor, Tyng played four years of hockey at Providence College, where she was a captain as a senior. She played forward and defense during her 133-game career. Tyng was an ECAC Hockey League All-Academic selection as a sophomore, junior and senior.
