Team Notes: Final Weekend has Playoff Implications for Big Green
The following article appeared February 18 on the Dartmouth Web site.
HANOVER, NH - The Dartmouth women's hockey team enters the final
weekend of the regular season in the eighth and final playoff spot,
but with two tough opponents in sixth-ranked Clarkson and St.
Lawrence on the road, the Big Green still has work to do.
STILL BREATHING
Dartmouth stayed in the playoff hunt this past weekend with a
split at Union and Rensselaer. With the two points earned and a
split from Yale as well, the Big Green remained in that eighth and
final playoff spot. On Friday at Union, Dartmouth got two goals
from Amanda Trunzo and also got two points from her linemates Jenna
Cunningham and Sarah Parsons. Freshman Whitney Woodcox earned her
first collegiate shutout with 14 saves and gave Dartmouth its lone
shutout of the season so far.
PLAYOFF POSITIONING UP FOR GRABS
Going into the final regular season weekend, Dartmouth is one of
three teams that will be vying for the eighth and final spot.
Currently, the Big Green is in the eighth spot with 17 points,
which is tied with Yale. Colgate is also making a push and is
probably in the best position and only one point behind. The
Raiders will host Rensselaer and Union on the final weekend, while
Yale travels to Princeton and Quinnipiac.
