HANOVER, N.H. - Senior co-captain Sarah Parsons (Dover,
Mass.) is one of 78 student-athletes selected in a preliminary pool
of participants for the 2010 NCAA Frozen Four Skills Challenge and
needs your help to become a finalist.
She was chosen earlier this week and will need help from the fans
to make the final roster of 32 that will be at the men's NCAA
Frozen Four at Ford Field in Detroit. Fan voting has already begun
and will conclude at noon Eastern time, Monday, February 15. While
the fan voting will aid in the selection process, the ultimate
decisions will be made by the selection committee by the end of
February. Each fan can only submit one vote during the next couple
of weeks.
Parsons currently leads the Big Green in all offensive categories
with 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points. She is second in
scoring in ECAC Hockey and is in the top six in both goals and
assists. She now has 146 points in 115 total games with 61 goals
and 85 assists. Parsons is currently tied with Sarah Howald '96 for
ninth all time in points. She is five assists away from Carly
Haggard '03 for seventh all time. With four more points she will
become the eighth player to reach 150 points in a Big Green
uniform.
The event will take place between the national semifinals and
championship game during the Frozen Four weekend. It will be held
April 9 and will highlight the "Friday Night at the Frozen Four".
The night will also include the presentation of the Hobey Baker
Memorial Award, the Hockey Humanitarian Award and the announcement
of the American Hockey Coaches Association All-American teams.
