HANOVER, N.H. - The Dartmouth women's hockey team will play its
final game of 2009 on Wednesday as the Big Green welcomes Vermont
to Thompson Arena at 7 p.m. for the second matchup between northern
neighbors.
DOOMED BY NO. 4 UNH ATTACK
The Big Green played a great opening period and led 1-0 after the
first 20 minutes. However, fourth-ranked New Hampshire didn’t
stay quiet. The Wildcats netted three goals in the second frame and
cruised to a 4-1 win over the Dartmouth on Dec. 12 at Thompson.
Dartmouth is now 2-3 against ranked opponents and 1-1 in
non-conference games this season.
JUMPING OUT EARLY
The opening frame has been friendly to the Big Green as Dartmouth
has been able to get out in front of its opponents early in games.
The Big Green is 4-1-1 when scoring first and have the same record
when leading after the opening frame. The UNH loss was the first
time Dartmouth had given up an early lead. However, when going down
early, Dartmouth hasn’t shown it can come back as they are
1-4-0 when not scoring first.
