HANOVER, N.H. -- The eighth-ranked Dartmouth women's hockey team
will look to gain ground on seventh-ranked St. Lawrence for the top
spot in ECAC Hockey going into the final weekend of the regular
season as the Big Green enter the final two contests just two
points behind the Saints.
This Friday Dartmouth takes on Clarkson at 7 p.m. and will be
participating in the second annual Pink at the Rink to benefit the
American Cancer Society and promote cancer awareness. Fans who wear
pink will be admitted to the game for $1 and the first 100 fans
will receive pink T-shirts. Saturday's contest against St. Lawrence
is Senior Day for the Big Green as Dartmouth is set to honor its
seven seniors and also it is National Girls and Women in Sports Day
at Thompson Arena.
LAST TIME OUT
The Big Green had a tough road trip last weekend, earning just one
point with a tie at Cornell. On Friday night, Dartmouth carried a
one-goal lead into the final period and saw it disappear after
Colgate netted two goals in the final six-plus minutes to take a
2-1 win from the Big Green. The next night, it took a two-goal
comeback in the final frame to earn a 3-3 tie at Cornell. Dartmouth
slipped into third place in ECAC Hockey as Harvard jumped the Big
Green into second.
