
Clemis Adds Academic Honor to List of Awards
HANOVER, N.H. -- Dartmouth junior goaltender Carli Clemis (Taber, Alta.) has been selected to the ESPN the Magazine Academic All-District Second Team, it was announced Thursday.
She continues to rack up the awards following her junior season. Clemis was named the 2007-08 ECAC Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year and recently was awarded the Class of 1948 Scholar-Athlete Award at Dartmouth's annual Celebration of Excellence. She is a biology major with a focus on pre-med.
In order to be nominated, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.20 grade point average for his or her career.
Clemis played in 27 games this past season for the Big Green, amassing a 13-8-6 record overall and an 8-4-4 mark in ECAC Hockey play. She pushed aside an average of 25.3 shots per game this year, which allowed her to post a .905 save percentage and a 2.65 goals against average. Clemis is a two-time member of the ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team and a past ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Year and First Team member.
She is currently second in all-time wins in Dartmouth history with 41 and second in goals against average with a 2.17 career mark.
In addition to her on-ice contribution, she has been a model student-athlete off the ice. She has been a team leader for the Relay for Life, a volunteer for the Kidney Foundation of Canada and at Taber Hospital in her hometown. Clemis is also a member of the Alpha Phi International Fraternity, which main philanthropic focus is the American Cancer Society.
