Parsons Scores Twice at 4 Nations Cup
Dartmouth sophomore Sarah Parsons (Dover, Mass.) netted two
goals for the United States at the Four Nations Cup as Team USA
earned the silver medal in Leksand, Sweden.
Parsons tallied her first of the tournament against Sweden in a 4-0
win for Team USA. She got the scoring started for both the United
States and Finland midway through the first period in the 2-1 win
for Team USA.
Team USA made it to the gold medal game to face their neighbors to
the north and Canada completed the two-game sweep of the United
States with a 2-0 win. The two faced each other earlier in the
tournament and Canada defeated Team USA 6-3. Finland defeated
Sweden, 1-0, to earn the bronze medal.
For Canada, Gillian
Apps '06 recorded a goal and an assist, all coming against the
United States in the 6-3 win. Former Big Green skaters, Katie
Weatherston '06 and Correne Bredin '02 competed for Canada, while
Kristin King '02 joined Parsons on Team USA.
The Big Green will welcome back Parsons this coming weekend as
Dartmouth travels to Brown on Friday for a 7 p.m. face-off and Yale
on Saturday for a 5 p.m. start.
