According to Train’s song: “If it’s Love,” “While everybody else is getting out of bed, I’m usually getting in it, I’m not in it to win it, and there’s a thousand ways you can skin it,” … well, at 5:40 a.m., while everybody else on this campus is in bed, my teammates and I are usually getting out of bed, and ready to start our days. Unless you’re Karps (Chelsea Karpenko), then you’ve got 10 more solid minutes of beauty sleep. And we’re definitely in it to win it … or else we wouldn’t be getting up at 5:40! Every weekday morning, our team practices at 7 a.m. Why do you get up an hour and twenty minutes before your practice, you might ask? Well, we’re all required to be at the rink and dressed in teagles (workout clothes) by 6:20. At 6:20, we go over video (game film) with our coaching staff. Then we warm up as a team, put our gear on, and hit the ice at 7 a.m. So today, like every other Tuesday, we piled into Kenny’s (Kendice Ogilvie) car at 6:05 and began our day.
