Cornell Cannot Expect to Coast

ITHACA -- It's a little like the present versus the past: A stellar sophomore goaltender, two freshmen among the three leading scorers, a dearth of seniors and ECAC Hockey's Player of the Year.
That not only describes the upstart Cornell women's hockey team that ascended from obscurity into the national title game in the 2009-10 season, but it's also an accurate description of a Quinnipiac team that crosses paths with this season's Big Red in a league tournament semifinal at 7 p.m. Thursday at Lynah Rink.
It's been so long since the Cornell women's hockey team has seen Quinnipiac in their two fall meetings, the Big Red's memories might be a little fuzzy.
